The cycle of seminars CONVERSAS AT THE FOOT OF THE PAGE is based on the premise of the exchange of experiences and knowledge around literature, reading, books for children and young people and training of readers. In this sense, since its first realization in 2011, it brings together prestigious Brazilian and foreign experts, both theoretically and practically, who focus on reflection, dialogue and debate as the path to discovery.
The diversity of readers and readings, children and young people in the 21st century and the training of reading promoters were the themes that guided the discussions in previous years, expressing the concern of always taking a step forward in the formulation of content and in the production of seminars - evolution that can be perceived at each meeting in the audience increase and in the increasingly positive evaluations of the participants.
Thus, with a cumulative experience of three years, the cycle of CONVERSAS AT THE FOOT OF THE PAGE proposes, in the seminars of 2014, to honour the Brazilian sociologist and literary critic Antonio Cândido, whose priceless intellectual production has as one of the high points the essay "The right to literature", a necessary and timely reflection to broaden horizons, insofar as it establishes the original relationship between literature - an indispensable factor of humanization - and the presuppositions of a more just society.
